I made these once years ago, but have not recently. But Heather from Girlichef recently posted about some homemade alfajores she made. Don't they look yummy! Check out her recipe here.
As far as store bought alfajores, Havanna brand is my favorite. When I went to Argentina, a friend and I bought about 12 different types of alfajores and had a taste test to see which we liked the best. By far the Havanna brand was the best. I am not sure if you can find them here in the states, but I know you can find them on amazon, just click on the picture below.

ReplyDeletealfajores were my absolute favorite part of Peru. I went to the bakery in Aguas Caliente at least three times a day while I was there, and same in Cusco. Sadly, we didn't find any in Brazil, nor Honduras. I can't wait to go somewhere again in SA where this is the cookie of choice.
