easy homemade wreath for fall

October 7, 2011

Last fall I made this wreath. It is super easy, inexpensive, and can be easily customized with different colored ribbons.

The secret material is...brown coffee filters.

What you will need:

  • One foam wreath - I got mine at Michael's Craft Store, I think it is about 6 inches diameter
  • 1 Package coffee filters
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon

You just take the coffee filters and squish them from the bottom. Put a few dabs of hot glue on it and then attach to the wreath. Each time you add a coffee filter you really want to smoosh them together.

I also found it easiest to work from the inner side of the ring to the outside, since there is less room on the inside. Then I just attached a bow to the back at the top. You can also make a bow and glue it or pin it on the front for a bit more pizzazz.

I wish I had more pictures of the process, but I just got carried away doing it. This was one of those projects for me where my final product was not as good as how I envisioned it. I envisioned it more like the following ones, but overall I don't think it turned out that bad.
