Blue cheese dressing is definitely a favorite in our house. And although we love the traditional blue cheese dressing with a creamy mayo base, it is nice to change it up once in a while. This dressing has balsamic vinegar as the base.
But to make it creamy, you are going to blend it.
Now for dressing I always use my immersion blender. If you don't have one, I highly recommend it. There are so many things you can do with it, but the nice thing for this recipe is that you can turn this dressing into a really creamy one where all the flavors meld into one another.
Creamy Blue Cheese Balsamic Dressing
Ingredients
6 Tbsp light flavored oil -I like avocado oil2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
~ 4 oz blue cheese crumbles
1 tsp honey
Instructions
In a small bowl or wide mouthed mason jar, place all the ingredients together. With your immersion blender**, blend the ingredients together until smooth and creamy.
If you do not have an immersion blender, you may be able to use a hand held mixer or blender to achieve the same consistency.
If you do not have any of these, you can make this more of a blue cheese balsamic vinaigrette.
**I have to say, this is actually not the exact immersion blender that I have. But I LOVE that this has a milk frother. I broke mine and totally miss it. If you do not have a milk frother at home, you need that too. Totally levels up your coffee.
