blue cheese balsamic salad dressing

This simple blue cheese balsamic vinaigrette recipe is a great salad dressing you can make quickly and easily with just a few ingredients on hand.

A few weeks ago my creamy homemade blue cheese dressing was posted over at Happy Hour Projects. I had a request from my brother to make a non-creamy version. The same day my sister sent me her version of creamy blue cheese dressing. So I took both into account and came up with a non-creamy blue cheese dressing. And I have to say, it is fabulous. I might like it more than my creamy one.

I was not even aware that there were blue cheese vinaigrettes on the market, but sure enough I found a bottled version. Here are the ingredients:

WATER, SOYBEAN OIL, WHITE WINE VINEGAR , BLUE CHEESE (MILK, CHEESE CULTURES, SALT, ENZYMES), HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, SALT, EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL, GARLIC*, ONION*, SUGAR, XANTHAN GUM, NATURAL FLAVOR, SPICES, SODIUM BENZOATE ADDED AS PRESERVATIVE, CALCIUM DISODIUM EDTA ADDED TO PROTECT FLAVOR, ANNATTO COLOR. *DEHYDRATED

What are the natural flavors? Which spices? There needs to be high fructose corn syrup AND sugar?

Here is my recipe

Blue Cheese Balsamic Vinaigrette

6 Tbsp avocado oil - This is my preferred oil to use whenever I need something lighter in taste. Annd it is GMO free.
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp honey
~ 4 oz blue cheese crumbles
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
In a bowl, add all ingredients and whisk together. I whisked pretty vigorously in order to break up the crumbles into smaller pieces so that they were more evenly dispersed.

Enjoy!
