looking for lost items

looking for lost items

During your lifetime you will spend 3600 hours looking for lost items.

That's 153 days!!!!

This is why I simplify.

If there is one thing I cannot stand, it is not being able to find something. There are rare instances where I will be exhausted but stay up anyway, and not being able to find something I know is in the house is one of them.
It is so hard for me to do anything else, concentrate on anything else, or move on. I. JUST. NEED. TO. FIND. IT.

So knowing this, I simplify. The less stuff I have, the easier it is to find things. I have homes for things and I know where they go. It might not work 100% of the time. but it has helped so much and cut down on so much wasted time.

Here are a few things I have created One permanent home for:

  • pens & pencils - there is only one spot in our house for these
  • keys - I lose my keys more than anyone I know and I have finally fixed that problem
  • rubber bands - and no one needs 5000 rubber bands in their house
  • essential oils - although we have a couple beside our beds, all the others are on one big oil shelf that can hold over 600!
I am taking back some of those 3600 hours!
